Say goodbye to dark circles!

Dark-circles-2.jpgDark circles, today, are one of the top most beauty concerns. Apart from obvious reasons like lack of sleep or fatigue, there could be underlying dermatological reasons for this condition. Instead of simply going for an off the shelf beauty product, a combination of multiple preventive measures and treatments could be the best way to combat dark circles.

Sunglasses are more than style
Sun damage causes increased production of melanin pigment. Always use sunglasses with UV filters. Apply sunscreen daily.

K is the key
Skin around the eyes it the thinnest and becomes thinner with age. Blood flowing through superficial veins gives a bluish black tint to the skin. Under eye creams containing vitamin K strengthen capillary walls and mitigate this effect.

Rest is best
Sleep early and at least for 8 hours without disturbance. If your work involves spending hours in front of the computer screen, short breaks, lower brightness levels and UV filters help. Watching television in dark is a big NO!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Fresh fruits and vegetables rich in iron can help oxygenation of tissues. Drinking ample amount of water helps in tissue hydration and general detoxification.

Try this at home!
Take 3 drops of licorice extract, 2 drops of vitamin K from a capsule and pea size of aloe vera gel and mix everything together. Mixture should be consistent and not too sticky or watery. Apply this mixture around your eyes daily at night and you will notice considerable improvement.
